Ele Ferrannini
Donald Seldin Lecture
Ele Ferrannini, MD, is a professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Pisa and a senior research associate at the National Research Council Institute of Clinical Physiology.
Professor Ferrannini has published over 700 original papers on diabetes, metabolism, and hypertension, as well as several reviews and textbook chapters. His current research areas include insulin resistance and atherosclerosis, the pathophysiology of insulin secretion, the pathogenesis of insulin hypersecretion in obesity and the effects of weight loss, coronary atherosclerosis in diabetes, the pathogenesis of microvascular dysfunction and proteinuria in adult-onset diabetes.
Dr. Ferrannini is giving the Donald Seldin Lecture in WCN Plenary Session 4 on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 11:00 – 11:40 am Argentina Time in Hall A. He will give the talk, ‘Insights into SGLT2 Inhibitors: A Story of Discovery.’
