Dr. Cijang He obtained his medical degree at Shanghai Second Medical University in China and PhD at University of Paris VII in France. He completed his postdoc training at NIH in Maryland, USA. He completed his medical residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and nephrology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, USA. Currently, he is a Professor of Medicine and Pharmacological Sciences at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He holds the title of Irene and Dr. Arthur M. Fishberg endowed chair of Nephrology. He is the Division Chief of Nephrology at Mount Sinai Health System. His research interest has been in the field of glomerular cell biology and pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease and HIV-related kidney disease. His lab uses systems biology approach to identify potential new biomarkers and drug targets for these kidney diseases. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers in these fields.
