ISN Mentorship Abstract Award: 1st Place
ISN Mentorship Abstract Awards recognize the three top-scored WCN’24 abstracts submitted by recent ISN mentees after collaboration with their mentors in the ISN Mentorship Program.
Dr. Anh Nguyen is working as a nephrologist at Cho Ray Hospital and as a senior lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She is a past ISN Fellow under A/Prof. Vincent Lee atWestmead Hospital, in Sydney, Australia, in 2016. Her interests include acute kidney disease, kidney replacement therapy, in particular hemodialysis, and glomerulonephopathies, in particular lupus nephritis. The connection between the Cho Ray Hospital and Westmead Hospital was supported by the ISN Sister Renal Centers (SRC) Program with level A approval in 2016. The partnership graduated from the program in 2018 and is currently supporting another center in a trio partnership under the ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Centers (STC) Program.
Since 2021, she has been doing research under A/Prof. Vincent Lee through the ISN Mentorship Program, maintaining the sustainable connection between the two hospitals and with her mentor. She is currently involved in the PhD program in Vietnam and her thesis is about genetic testing in lupus kidney disease.
Dr. Nguyen states that, “as far as my experience goes, ISN activities motivate me to be stronger and more mature in my clinical research career pathways. I have learned a valuable lesson in that what you keep to yourself you lose, what you give away, you keep forever.”
