Dr. Hiroshi Nishi, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Nephrology at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and a Vice Chair of Division of Nephrology and Endocrinology at the University of Tokyo Hospital. He received his academic degrees from the University of Tokyo and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Brigham Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, USA, before being appointed an Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo in 2016. His research goal is the expansion of our understanding of the molecular pathways controlling immune and vascular cell-mediated kidney injury. He has also devoted himself to clinical studies to analyze the equity of social and medical resources designated for patients with kidney diseases. His work has been continuously funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science since 2016. He serves on the Editorial Board of Kidney International Reports since 2019.
