APSN Excellence in Basic Science Award

The Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN) Excellence in Basic Science Award honors outstanding nephrologists from the Asian Pacific region who make a significant contribution to basic science in nephrology.

Dr. Ming Li is a nephrologist in the department of Nephrology, the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. Her major research interests are molecular genetics of human complex renal diseases, mainly focused on IgA nephropathy (IgAN), to increase the understanding on the genetic susceptibility for IgAN and to identify novel targets for prevention and treatment. Her studies were supported by scientific research grants with resulting publications in English journals, including Nature Genetics and Nature Communications.

Dr. Li will receive her award in the APSN Awards Session: Kenzo Oshima Award, Excellence in Basic Science Award, and Haiyan Wang Lecture on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 14:15-15:15 Bangkok time in MR 110 ABC.
