Mark Canney
ISN iNET-CKD Named Fellow
Dr. Mark Canney is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, at the University of Ottawa, and a staff nephrologist at The Ottawa Hospital, in Ottawa, Canada. He has been awarded the title of ISN iNET-CKD Named Fellow for his valuable work on the ISN iNET-CKD collaborative project on “Exploring international variability in hemoglobin and the approach to anemia treatment among individuals with CKD.”
ISN Region: North America and the Caribbean
Dr. Canney states, “This collaborative study from iNET-CKD shows that hemoglobin values vary substantially in people with CKD from different parts of the world. The findings argue against targeting the same hemoglobin range in everyone with CKD and challenge us to improve our understanding of the pathophysiology of anemia in specific CKD populations.”
