What difference did you make through the ISN-KI Editorial Fellowship?
During my PhD course, I established a method of whole-kidney 3D imaging and visualized renal sympathetic denervation after ischemia/reperfusion injury (Kidney Int 2019, selected as ISN-KI Early Career Researcher Award). I also studied the effects of HIF stabilizers on renal energy metabolism in the course of diabetic kidney disease (Kidney Int 2020) and the role of macrophage sympathetic signaling in acute kidney injury (JASN 2021). With this research experience, I am currently serving as an ISN-KI Editorial Fellow. I handle manuscripts with associate editors and participate in weekly editorial conferences, which would allow me to mature as a physician scientist. The great experience of ISN-KI Editorial Fellowship would help me to develop my capacity as a scientist. My current research focuses on organelle stress and crosstalk in kidney diseases (Kidney360 2020). I would like to identify fundamental mechanisms of kidney disease progression and develop new therapeutic options in this area.
The ISN-KI Editorial Fellowship, designed for early-career professionals and academics working in the field of nephrology, dialysis, and transplantation, provides training opportunities for reviewing and critically evaluating manuscripts and managing editorial responsibilities within the context of a world-renowned nephrology journal.
The Kidney International (KI) editorial team is currently providing expert guidance to three ISN-KI Editorial Fellows and seven ISN-KI Editorial Internships from October 2021 to April 2023.
