Richard Kitching

Dr. Richard Kitching is an academic nephrologist-scientist from Australia with a special interest in immune kidney disease, particularly vasculitis. He holds Monash University and Monash Heath appointments and leads the Monash Vasculitis Clinic. He serves on the Editorial Board of Kidney International as well as those of JASN, CJASN, and Internal and Emergency Medicine, is an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Immunology and was recognized by Publons as a Top Peer Reviewer in 2019.
Dr. Kitching and colleagues from Clinical Immunology, Nephrology and Rheumatology founded the ANZ Vasculitis Society, a patient-facing multidisciplinary professional society to improve vasculitis education, research and care. His laboratory research focusses on autoimmune kidney disease and has been funded by Australian NHMRC Investigator, Project and CRE Grants, and an EUHorizon 20/20 Consortium. He has published in Kidney International, Nature, Nature Reviews Disease Primers, Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, J Am Soc Nephrol and PNAS USA.
