How did the ISN Emerging Leaders Program help you grow as a leader?
The ISN ELP has helped me to build connectivity - bringing together people with a shared purpose - which is an essential component of being a leader. Our ongoing, collaborative ELP projects are guided by a vision of what we can achieve together to address global nephrology issues, including access to essential medicines, identification of CKD, and follow-up after acute kidney injury. On a local level, building connectivity through engagement with renal dietitians as research partners gave me a greater appreciation of dietitian perspectives and roles, and helped us to expand our renal nutrition research program.I am really looking forward to integrating and applying my skills in public health and research towards the implementation projects our ISN ELP cohort has initiated. Implementation research facilitates the application of evidence to various settings and allows us to assess the real-world impact of our work. I also look forward to continuing my involvement with the ISN as a regional board member.
