Megumi Oshima
ISN-KI Early Career Researcher: Clinical Science
Megumi Oshima, MD, PhD, is a nephrologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Nephrology and Laboratory Medicine at Kanazawa University in Japan. Her research focuses on understanding how chronic kidney disease (CKD) progress and investigating how to prevent or slow progression of CKD. She performed clinical research using data from randomized controlled trials involving patients with type 2 diabetes and CKD at the George Institute for Global Health in Sydney, Australia. Based on her work, she recently received the Young Investigator Award from the Japanese Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Oshima was named one of the ISN-KI Early Career Researchers for Clinical Science for her paper ‘Insights from CREDENCE trial indicate an acute drop in estimated glomerular filtration rate during treatment with canagliflozin with implications for clinical practice.’
