Amelie Bernier-Jean

Dr. Amélie Bernier-Jean is a nephrologist and early career clinician-scientist at the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur in Montreal, Canada. Last year she was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Montreal’s faculty of medicine. She has completed a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology at the University of Sydney (Australia) in 2019 and a PhD with the Sydney School of Public Health in 2021. Her thesis focused on lifestyle changes, including diet and physical activity, for people with chronic kidney disease. Amélie has expertise in numerous epidemiology methods used in the study of chronic diseases as well as advanced knowledge of biostatistics and prediction modelling. She sits on the coordinating committee of the Standardised Outcome in Nephrology (SONG) Initiative and is involved in two large-scale publicly funded randomised controlled trials. She values pragmatic research oriented towards patient’s priorities. In 2021, she received the KI reviewer of the year award.
