Dr. Marina Noris is the Head, Laboratory of Immunology and Genetics of Rare Diseases, at the Clinical Research Center for Rare Diseases “Aldo e Cele Daccò,” Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri – IRCCS, in Bergamo, Italy.
She obtained a degree in Pharmacological Chemistry at the University of Rome, “La Sapienza,” in 1986. Since 1987, she has been working at the Mario Negri Institute, as a research fellow from 1987 to 1992, as a Researcher from 1992 to 1996, and as Head of Laboratory from 1996. She obtained a PhD in Genetics at the University of Maastricht, Netherlands, in February 2006. Throughout her career she has been a member of the Editorial Board of JASN (2006-2010 and 2020-present), member of the European Complement Network Board (2013-2019), Associate Editor of the Journal of Immunology (2015-2019), Member of the Research Club “Top Italian Women Scientists” (2016-present), and Member of the Editorial board of KI (2020-present). In 2019, she was Included among the world’s top 100,000-ranked scientists (doi:10.1371/journal.pbio.30003849).
Dr. Noris has published more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed International Journals and several book chapters, in the fields of nephrology, pathogenesis and genetics of HUS, TTP, FSGS, C3G/MPGN and fibronectin glomerulopathy, and on the immunology of transplantation.
