Fellowship Abstract Award 2nd Prize
ISN Fellowship Abstract Awards recognize the three top-scored WCN’25 abstracts submitted by recent ISN Fellows.
Dr. Nabin Basnet is an interventional nephrologist working in Kathmandu at the National Kidney Centre and Nepal Mediciti Hospital in Nepal. His journey as a nephrologist began in 2011 after completing his training at Hiroshima University. He received an ISN fellowship in 2019, where he specialized in interventional nephrology; he states this was a crucial turning point in his career.
Since then, Dr. Basnet has been dedicated to helping patients with their dialysis access issues. He has collaborated with the Vascular Society of Nepal, and together they have conducted four workshops to train doctors, residents, and nurses on hemodialysis access. He has also collaborated with Baxter-Nepal and the Nepal Society of Nephrology to provide workshops with hands-on training in peritoneal dialysis and sonography for nephrologists.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Basnet has published articles and is currently involved in various research projects in nephrology. His goal is to continue advancing the field and providing the best possible care for his patients.

The Fellowship Abstract Awards will be presented in the WCN Plenary Session 3 on February 8, 2025, from 11:45-12:45 p.m. India Standard Time in the Auditorium Brahmkamal Hall and in WCN Spotlight Session, ‘ISN Programs Awards,’ on February 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Spotlight Stage 1 (Exhibition).
