Mentorship Abstract Award 1st Prize
ISN Mentorship Abstract Awards recognize the three top-scored WCN’25 abstracts submitted by recent ISN mentees after collaboration with their mentors in the ISN Mentorship Program.
Dr. Felix-Mihai Maralescu is currently an assistant professor of nephrology at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Victor Babeș” in Timisoara, Romania. He completed his medical studies at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Victor Babeș” in Timisoara in 2017 and his nephrology residency at the end of 2022. During this time, he pursued a master’s degree in Statistical Methods and Techniques in Health and Clinical Research (2019 to 2021) and finalized a PhD in Nephrology (between 2020 and 2023).
Dr Maralescu had the privilege of participating as a mentee in the ISN Mentorship Program, where he collaborated closely with his esteemed mentor, Dr. Jochen Raimann, from the Renal Research Institute in New York, New York, USA. This collaboration led to an invitation to New York, where he conducted research under Dr. Raimann’s guidance on a project focusing on hemodialysis patients, ultimately earning the first prize of the ISN Mentorship Abstract Awards at WCN’25.
Dr. Maralescu states that, “Alone we’re strong, as a team we’re unstoppable.”
