Call for expressions of interest/nominations for
ISN-ACT Committee Members
The ISN welcomes expressions of interest/nominations for the position of member of the ISN-ACT (Advancing Clinical Trials) Committee. The position will start at the World Congress of Nephrology 2025 (WCN’25).
About the ISN-ACT Committee
The aim of the ISN-ACT Committee of the ISN-ACT initiative is to guide and facilitate the increase of international high-quality clinical trials in nephrology to inform the optimal prevention and treatment of kidney disease and its complications for the benefit of patients. The ISN-ACT Committee does that through various activities and initiatives.
The ISN–ACT Committee aims to:
- Objective 1: Bring together people involved in clinical trials and related studies in nephrology.
- Objective 2: Provide a forum for the discussion of key scientific, operational and analytical issues faced by clinical trial researchers in kidney diseases.
- Objective 3: Grow the capacity of the global nephrology community to conduct high quality clinical trials and studies by connecting researchers with different levels of experience, and through specific training and educational initiatives within the ISN framework.
- Objective 4: Develop ISN led and/or supported activities which help to improve and standardize high-quality trial conduct in nephrology.
- Objective 5: Promote and support the development and execution of clinical trials in a highly ethical framework.
- Objective 6: Increase the participation of ISN Regional Boards to consolidate local knowledge.
- Objective 7: Oversee the deliverables of ISN-ACT.
The ISN-ACT Committee works to protect the rights of clinical trial participants, both investigators and patients, particularly in developing countries.
The Role
The role and responsibilities of ISN-ACT Committee members include to:
- provide input on project development;
- identify the priorities for the ISN-ACT Network and Committee;
- contribute to ISN-ACT projects and activities identified by the group.
Selection Criteria
- Convincing experience in the field of nephrology research, particularly in clinical trials or related research activities
- A track record of publications, participation in clinical research projects, or contributions to the advancement of nephrology-related research.
- Clear interest and active involvement in ISN initiatives and activities, such as prior participation in ISN programs, committees, or special projects.
- ISN member in good standing.
- Email accessible and able to regularly connect to conference calls.
