ISN-ISTH Webinar: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) — Supporting Implementation of the ISTH Guidelines
Thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) is characterized by thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, and organ injury, including AKI. Although TMA can be associated with significant morbidity and mortality, a systematic approach to is critical to early diagnosis and subsequently specific therapy which can result in improved outcomes. Dr. Radhakrishnan will review diagnosis and management of the TMAs.
ISTH recently published new clinical practice guidelines for both diagnosis and management of patients with TTP. Dr. Flora Peyvandi will touch on key recommendations from the guidelines in order to properly identify and treat TTP.
