The International Society of Nephrology is pleased to deliver the Primer Course in Glomerular Diseases in Prague, Czech Republic from September 16-17, 2025.

The ISN’s Primer Course in Glomerular Diseases is designed to provide trainees and early career clinicians with an update on the management of glomerulonephritis, including the diagnosis, histopathology and treatment of a comprehensive range of glomerular diseases.

Course Overview

The ISN’s Primer Course in Glomerular Diseases will provide clinicians with an update on the management of glomerulonephritis, including the diagnosis, histopathology and treatment of a comprehensive range of glomerular diseases. It will provide an opportunity for participants to discuss management nuances and clinical applications with experts in the field, and will include clinicopathological cases with practical approaches in daily clinical practice.

This course is designed for trainee nephrologists or junior consultants with 3 or fewer years as a specialist.

The course will be held in person from September 16 – September 17, 2025.

Lectures will begin each day at 07:50 and finish at 18:00.

The course will be in-person. No hybrid or virtual participation is possible.

  • Trainee nephrologists or junior consultants with 3 or fewer years as a specialist
  • Individuals in Europe, Newly Independent States and Russia, and the Middle East (this course is held regularly in different regions to make it accessible to all)
  • Individuals residing in low and lower-middle income countries – see list here

Successful GN course grant recipients will receive:

  • Complementary GN course registration.
  • A contribution towards travel and accommodation for attendees outside of Prague – see below for more details.

All other costs are the responsibility of the individual.

  • $250 USD – Czech Republic (outside of Prague*)
  • $550 USD – Western Europe, Eastern and Central Europe
  • $700 USD – Armenia, Georgia, Lebanon
  • $750 USD – Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia
  • $850 USD – Jordan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Syria, United Arab Emirates
  • $1000 USD – Turkmenistan, Oman, Bahrain
  • $1200 USD – All other countries

The travel grant may only be applied towards:

  • Return economy travel to Prague
  • Three nights accommodation in Prague
  • Visa (if required)

Please note, travel grants are meant to provide a contribution to your travel costs, but will not cover all travel costs.

*Please note, travel grant contributions will not be offered to those residing in Prague.

May 19, 2025 You will receive a notification if your application was successful or not.

June 2, 2025 – Deadline to accept course space and GN travel grant by responding to the email notification

October 20, 2025 – Deadline to submit receipts and forms to receive the travel grant contribution

You will only receive the travel grant contribution following course completion and submission of the required forms (reimbursement form, W8/W9 and all receipts).

The Primer Course will precede the 18th International Symposium on IgA Nephropathy.

The symposium will take place from September 17th – 20th, 2025.  Successful applicants to the ISN Primer Course will be offered discounted registration fees to attend the symposium.

By registering for this course, participants understand that the Primer Course in Glomerular Disease, and all content therein, is designed exclusively for qualified medical professionals and that in line with current healthcare industry regulations, s/he confirms to be qualified to access the course contents.

This is a two-day course which requires physical presence in Prague, Czech Republic from September 16-17, 2025. This course can only be attended in person, no virtual option is available.

It is the course attendee’s responsibility to check if they require a visa and to apply. The course organizers strongly recommend those requiring a visa to start the process as soon as possible.  Course organizers will provide an invitation letter but cannot support any further in the visa process. Please liaise and check with your local consulate for any specific questions you have. 

Successful GN course grant recipients will receive:

Any cancellation or change to your registration must be done in writing to GNcourse@theisn.org.

If you cancel your registration for any reason including failure to obtain a visa, you are responsible for any costs incurred (e.g. travel and visa). The responsibility for procuring health/accident and travel insurance remains with you.

If you cancel your registration, you will no longer be eligible to claim the travel grant contribution.

Course organizers reserve the right to modify the course program and course elements at any time. Details published on the course website are subject to change or subject to substitution. Participants are encouraged check the course website for updates on a regular basis. No right to further claims will be possible should the organizers be obliged to alter the program.

In the event of serious special or unforeseen circumstances or serious circumstances beyond its control, the course organizers shall be entitled to cancel or modify the dates of the course. Registered participants shall not be entitled to seek compensation for any costs or damages incurred because of such cancellation or change. The organizers will not be liable for any theft or damage to property and/or persons caused on site during the course, by any factor whatsoever, unless there has been a fault, intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of the organizers.

Although ISN takes all precautions to be certain that the countries and venues in which educational activities are held are safe, please note that when you agree to travel and join the course, you acknowledge and accept that ISN cannot be held liable for any untoward consequences related to traveling or staying abroad, including those related to COVID-19. The responsibility for procuring health/accident and travel insurance remains with you. You or your relatives cannot hold ISN responsible in the event of untoward events or experiences.

Following the course, participants will receive via email a certificate of completion.

  • If you accept a travel grant for this course and then are unable to attend, you will not receive any travel grant contribution.
  • Please note these grants are for people with no other sources of support to travel to this course. We would be grateful if you could let us know before Monday, 14 July 2025 if you have other support so we can offer the grant to another applicant.
  • You will only receive the grant contribution following course completion and submission of the required forms (reimbursement form, W8/W9 and all receipts).
  • The travel grant contribution can only be used towards:
    • Return economy travel to Prague
    • Three nights accommodation in Prague
    • Visa (if required)

Data collected by the organizers will only be used to manage your registration for the course and to provide you and other participants with relevant information about your attendance. Data may be shared with the local professional congress organizer (PCO) for planning purposes, but will never be shared with other third parties without your expressed and recorded consent.

Information collected during the registration process will be used to process your registration, ensure you receive a course badge, certificate of completion, and travel grant (if applicable). Without this information, we will be unable to properly process your registration. The recipients of the data are the course organizers, the local PCO and the course venue. Data will be stored and used in a secure environment.

In accordance with the chapter 3 of the European Regulation 2016/679 with regards to data protection, you have the right to request from the course organizers, access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data or restriction of processing concerning your data. For such request, please contact GNcourse@theisn.org (be aware that a proof of identity will be requested during the process).

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) will take photos during the course. These images will be used by the ISN to share news about the course and promote future courses. Images may be used on the ISN website, in ISN news, printed publicity and published on the ISN’s social media and e-mails. They will be stored securely on the ISN servers.
