Successful GN course grant recipients will receive:

• Complementary GN course registration.
• Complimentary maximum three nights hotel stay (check in on May 15 and check out on May 18) for attendees outside of Nairobi.
• A contribution towards travel for attendees outside of Nairobi – see below for more details.
• Course completion certificate.
• Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both course days.

Please see below the maximum contributions available by region:

• $100 USD – Kenya (outside of Nairobi)
• $600 USD – Eastern Africa (Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda)
• $750 USD – Central and Southern Africa (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Zambia, Zimbabwe)
• $850 USD – Northern Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia)
• $900 USD – Western Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo)
• $1000 USD – Rest of world

The travel grant contribution may only be applied towards:

• Return economy travel from your home country airport to Nairobi airport
• Travel from Nairobi airport to the course hotel
• Kenyan visa

Please note, travel grants are meant to provide a contribution to your travel costs, but will not cover all travel costs. All other costs are the responsibility of the individual.

Please note, travel grant contributions will not be offered to those residing in Nairobi.

January 13, 2025 – Application deadline. Please note, applications may close early depending on demand, so we encourage you to apply early.

January 27, 2025 – You will receive a notification if your application was successful or not (applications are reviewed in batches; earlier applicants may receive notification earlier).

February 14, 2025 – Deadline to accept course seat by responding to the email notification.

March 24, 2025 – Deadline to send your flight details to confirm your spot on the course.

June 11, 2025 – Deadline to submit receipts and forms to receive the travel grant contribution.

IMPORTANT: You will only receive the travel grant contribution following course completion and submission of the required forms (reimbursement form, W8/W9 and all receipts).

Any cancellation or change to your registration must be done in writing to GNcourse@theisn.org.

If you cancel your registration or are not present at the course for any reason including failure to obtain a visa, you are responsible for any costs incurred (e.g. travel and visa). The responsibility for procuring health/accident and travel insurance remains with you.

Your cancellation will also be subject to the following conditions:

• On or prior to Friday, February 28, 2025 there is no penalty for cancellation.
• From Saturday, March 1, 2025 onwards, the individual is responsible for reimbursing the cost of the three night hotel stay (if applicable).

If you cancel your registration or do not attend the course, you will no longer be eligible to claim the travel grant contribution.

• You will only receive the travel grant contribution following course completion and submission of the required forms (reimbursement form, W8/W9 and all receipts).
• The travel grant contribution can only be applied towards:
  • Return economy travel from your home country airport to Nairobi airport
  • Travel from Nairobi airport to the course hotel

Data collected by the organizers will only be used to manage your registration for the course and to provide you and other participants with relevant information about your attendance. Data may be shared with the local professional congress organizer (PCO) for planning purposes and with the course hotel to book your accommodation, but will never be shared with other third parties without your expressed and recorded consent.

Information collected during the registration process will be used to process your registration, book your hotel room, as well as ensure you receive a course name badge, certificate of completion, and travel grant (if applicable). Without this information, we will be unable to properly process your registration. The recipients of the data are the course organizers, the local PCO and the course hotel. Data will be stored and used in a secure environment.

In accordance with the chapter 3 of the European Regulation 2016/679 with regards to data protection, you have the right to request from the course organizers, access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data or restriction of processing concerning your data. For such request, please contact GNcourse@theisn.org (be aware that a proof of identity will be requested during the process).

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) will take photos during the course. These images will be used by the ISN to share news about the course and promote future courses. Images may be used on the ISN website, in ISN news, printed publicity and published on the ISN’s social media and e-mails. They will be stored securely on the ISN servers. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please email GNcourse@theisn.org at any time

To deliver a high-quality experience, course organizers will provide a safe and welcoming environment where participants can share information and ideas in a professional, positive, and friendly way.

Course organizers will not accept any intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions. This includes but is not limited to offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, deliberate intimidation, and stalking.

All attendees, including speakers, sponsors, vendors, partners, and staff are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct:

• Be considerate, respectful, collaborative, and inclusive,
• Participate in an authentic and active manner,
• Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, prejudicial, or harassing behavior and speech,
• Do not use inappropriate language and images,
• Do not engage in harm or threats of any kind,
• Do not inappropriately disrupt presentations and talks,
• Do not make audio or visual recordings of slides, Q&A, discussions without presenter/author’s permission.

Attendees can report inappropriate behavior to the course organizers at GNcourse@theisn.org. In case of inappropriate behavior, course organizers reserve the right to take any action deemed necessary without warning, including non-distribution of travel grant (if applicable), and they reserve the right to refuse attendance at future ISN meetings, virtually or in person.
