Call for expressions of interest/nominations for
ISN Interventional Nephrology Working Group Members

The ISN welcomes expressions of interest/nominations for the positions of members of the ISN Interventional Nephrology Working Group. The positions will start at the World Congress of Nephrology 2025 (WCN’2025).

About the ISN Interventional Nephrology Working Group

The purpose of the Interventional Nephrology Working Group is to bring together like-minded interventional nephrologists, trainees and health care professionals in the field of interventional nephrology from around the world, with a particular focus on developing interventional nephrology resources and practices throughout the world.

The Working Group works to raise funds specifically dedicated to advancing interventional nephrology expertise worldwide.

The ISN and the Interventional Nephrology Working Group share the goal of advancing nephrology in developing countries in general and in LMIC in particular. The primary means of working towards this goal is the ISN Interventional Nephrology Scholarship Program. The Interventional Nephrology Working Group designates Interventional Nephrology Training Centers (INTCs) that offer high-quality training, then each year selects Interventional Nephrology Scholars from low, lower-middle, and upper-middle income countries to take part in training at these INTCs.

The Role

The main role of Interventional Nephrology Working Group members is to review applications for the ISN Interventional Nephrology Scholarship Program and provide feedback to applicants once per year. Members are also expected to take part in other reviews as well on occasion, such as selecting new Interventional Nephrology Training Centers to take part in the scholarship program.

Interventional Nephrology Working Group members also take part in discussions to expand and improve the Interventional Nephrology Scholarship Program as needed, and to find other ways to build interventional nephrology capacity in low resource countries and around the world.

Selection Criteria

  • Strong experience in the field of interventional nephrology
  • Good understanding of the status and needs of interventional nephrology services in low-resource settings
  • Ability and willingness to review scholarship applications, and take part in other capacity-building discussions and activities as needed
  • ISN member in good standing
  • Email accessible and able to regularly connect to conference calls.
  • Thank you for your interest. The application process closed at 5 p.m. CEST on Friday, 18 October. We encourage you to keep an eye out and apply for available positions at next year’s call for EOIs/nominations round.
