How did the ISN enable you to advance kidney health in your home country?
The ISN has made a significant contribution in advancing kidney health in Japan through various means.
One significant contribution is the exchange of knowledge and expertise facilitated by ISN-sponsored conferences, workshops, and collaborative research projects such as those of the iNET-CKD (cohort studies) network. These platforms allow Japanese nephrologists to interact with their international counterparts, share best practices, and learn about the latest advancements in nephrology diagnosis, treatment, and research.
Moreover, ISN’s advocacy efforts for kidney health on a global scale have helped raise awareness about the burden of kidney disease in Japan, leading to increased government support and resources allocated towards kidney health initiatives, including research funding, healthcare infrastructure development, and public awareness campaigns.
What does the future look like?
Looking to the future, the landscape of nephrology in Japan is poised for further progress with ongoing research, technological innovations, and collaborative efforts in the global nephrology community.
With continued knowledge-sharing efforts, we are optimistic that we can further improve outcomes and quality of life for Japanese patients with kidney disease.
