What difference did you make through your Sister Center partnership?
The SRC collaboration with CCHMC helped us build our current unit with comprehensive renal care facilities. We organised multiple regional and national teaching programs, workshops, WKD activities, published patient care books and series of webinars. Faculty visits benefitted us immensely.
The major achievements include the initiation of the CRRT program and the National Pediatric Nephrology conclaves. Our visibility at the national level improved and we are now one of the major players providing high quality Pediatric renal care in the country.
A rewarding experience for the Supporting Center faculty and trainees was learning how one can still achieve excellent nephrology training and patient outcomes in the setting of limited resources.
What does the future look like?
Our goal is to a Start a DM program in Pediatric Nephrology, a Pediatric renal transplant program and to become an advanced centre for comprehensive renal care, training and research.
Our dream is to become centre of excellence, though we face resource crunch in terms of manpower, infrastructure as well as comprehensive Pediatric urology support.
