ISN Webinar: Ethics Education in Kidney Care – the ISN Curriculum Project

The session focuses on the critical role of ethics education in nephrology, highlighting the unique ethical challenges faced by nephrologists. The presentation will begin with a discussion on the necessity of ethics education for nephrologists, examining the similarities and differences between general medical ethics and the specific ethical dilemmas encountered in kidney care. The session will explore current ethics education practices within nephrology training programs globally, addressing how well-prepared nephrologists are to handle ethical challenges. A panel discussion will delve into the importance of ethics education, the barriers to its effective implementation, and the cultural dimensions that influence ethical decision-making in diverse settings. Additionally, the session will showcase an example of an ethics education program in kidney care and introduce the ISN EKC Curriculum Framework project, aimed at developing comprehensive ethics education for nephrologists. The session will conclude with a Q&A segment, encouraging interaction and feedback from participants.
