Nephrology health professionals’ perspectives on their preferred modality for scientific meetings, balancing affordability, sustainability and opportunities to interact with peers: An International Society of Nephrology survey,” is one of the few surveys — and the first in nephrology — assessing health professionals’ preferences for meeting formats.

The article presents findings from a global survey of 499 nephrology professionals across 102 countries, examining preferences for in-person, virtual, or hybrid scientific meetings. The results reveal a strong preference for hybrid formats, which respondents felt offered the most flexibility while balancing cost, accessibility, and opportunities for global collaboration.

Despite the advantages of hybrid meetings, some participants noted ongoing barriers to participation due to financial constraints or limited digital access in certain regions. The article discusses these challenges and calls for continued research to enhance equitable participation in scientific events.
