ISN’s Global Kidney Health Atlas 2023 Data Addresses Kidney Care Gaps in Resource-limited Settings
PLOS Global Public Health recently published a series of articles using data from the third edition of the ISN-Global Kidney Health Atlas (ISN-GKHA), exploring gaps in availability, affordability, quality, and access to kidney care services across countries by World Bank income group classifications.
Read the individual papers in PLOS Global Public Health:
- “Landscape of Kidney Replacement Therapy Provision in Low- and Lower-Middle-Income Countries: A Multinational Study From the ISN-GKHA,” by Nkunu and Tungsanga et al.
- “Global Availability of Medications and Health Technologies for Kidney Care: A Multinational Study From the ISN-GKHA,” by Kelly et al.
- “Disparities in Kidney Care in Vulnerable Populations: A Multinational Study From the ISN-GKHA,” by Erickson and Kamath et al.
- “A Global Snapshot on Health Systems Capacity for Detection, Monitoring, and Management of Acute Kidney Injury: A Multinational Study From the ISN-GKHA,” by Wainstein et al.
- “Regional Hotspots for Chronic Kidney Disease: A Multinational Study From the ISN-GKHA,” by Garcia et al.
Additionally, Kidney360 recently published “Global Policy and Advocacy Initiatives for Improving Kidney Care: Report From the 2023 ISN-GKHA Study,” by Wainstein et al., providing a global overview of the existence and reach of national strategies for kidney care.
The ISN-GKHA data clearly highlights the need for greater global and national prioritization of kidney health to reduce global inequities in access to kidney care.
