Since the 2021 Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) Guideline for the Management of Glomerular Diseases was published, important data concerning anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) has become available. These include the regulatory approval of avacopan for ANCA-AAV patients and evidence supporting a lower-dose or complete replacement of glucocorticoid induction regimen. This executive summary highlihgts the most important guideline changes and suggests research priorities.

The Role of Peer Support for Minoritized Individuals With Kidney Disease
Minoritized populations face barriers to quality kidney care, leading to suboptimal outcomes. Peer support programs are partnerships between individuals with similar sociodemographic backgrounds and health challenges. These programs have been successfully used to improve self-management and decision-making behaviors for patients with chronic disease.
Integrating robust, tailored peer support programs into kidney care may improve outcomes for minoritized populations with kidney disease.
