Advancing Global Kidney Transplantation – the ISN Renews Its Partnership With The Transplant Society and Launches New Joint ISN-TTS Fellowships in Transplantation
The ISN is pleased to formally renew its ongoing partnership with The Transplant Society (TTS).
New! – Launching ISN-TTS Joint Fellowships to advance transplantation skills
The ISN and TTS will jointly support training in transplantation for young physicians from low-resource areas. Fellows will receive hands-on training at advanced host institutions to equip them with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills in transplantation.
Find out more about these fellowships and how to apply here.
The training is intended to shape fellows to become leaders in transplantation in their home institutions to improve transplantation standards locally. Training must, therefore, be relevant to the fellow’s regional context.
Training opportunities include tissue typing transplant nephrology, transplant coordination, transplant surgery, and other training applicable to kidney transplantation.
Continuing to improve transplantation capacity: The ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Centers Program
The partnership renewal ensures the sustained success of the longstanding collaboration within the ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Centers (STC) Program, which has yielded remarkable outcomes over the past decade.

Improving online educational content with “Grand Rounds in Transplantation”
Since 2020, the ISN and TTS have collaborated on producing and delivering educational content to expand the quality and quantity of online educational material on nephrology and transplantation research and education.
In 2024, the ISN and TTS will launch “Grand Rounds in Transplantation,” a case-based online teaching program in transplantation, to support the training needs of active STC pairs and other centers in low- and middle-income countries.
The content of these educational webinars will be determined by the emerging centers, according to their training needs, and will include discussion and didactic elements from senior experts.
Recordings will be available on the ISN Academy.
The ISN looks forward to advancing the global kidney transplant workforce and facilities alongside the TTS.
