ISN Education Working Group member, Maria E. Diaz-Gonzalez de Ferris, hosts this edition of the ISN Global Kidney Care Podcast. She talks to Paul Grimm, MD at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, about a revolutionary method in kidney care where the donor’s immune system is transplanted to the patient before surgeons implant the kidney. This procedure, known as dual immune/solid organ transplant or DISOT, means kidney transplants can be carried out in children without immune-suppressing drugs.
