ISN i3C Working Group Meeting on Intervention Strategies for Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Origin Generates Publication
The manuscript “Challenges and Opportunities in Interventions for Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Origin (CKDu): Report from the International Society of Nephrology Consortium of Collaborators on CKDu” has been published in Kidney International.
Read the manuscript here.
The paper was drafted after a special ISN i3C Working Group meeting was held to discuss potential interventions in communities and workplaces within CKDu ‘hotspot’ regions. The authors highlight the need for interventional studies that systematically address suspected risk factors of the disease, contributing to a better understanding of its causes.
The study was led by Brendan Smyth, Jason Glaser, Jaime Butler-Dawson, Nishantha Nanayakkara, David H. Wegman, Shuchi Anand and Adeera Levin, on behalf of the International Society of Nephrology’s International Consortium of Collaborators on Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Etiology (i3C).
