Advancing the Discussion on Rare Diseases: Frontiers Meeting in Bergamo Highly Rated by Delegates
More than 200 delegates from 51 countries joined us over the three days at the ISN Frontiers Meeting in Bergamo, Italy, at the end of June. The event had a significant online reach attaining 6.5 million impressions.
A global panel of clinical and scientific experts presented three days of specialty content at the meeting on ‘Complement-related kidney diseases: classification, genetics, and treatment.’
ISN President Agnes Fogo opened the meeting by welcoming participants. Joint meeting Chair Guiseppe Remuzzi from the host institution Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research presented the opening plenary lecture, “Rare Renal Diseases of Complement Dysregulation: Open a Window on the Future of Medicine.” Delegates also enjoyed keynote lectures from Richard Smith (USA), “C3G/IC-MPGN in 2022,” and Fadhi Fakhouri (Switzerland), “HUS in 2022.”
Fifty-five patients took part in two “Patient Meets the Doctor” sessions, in line with the ISN’s endorsement of patient involvement in kidney care.
