Announcing new Fellows from the first round of 2020 applications
The ISN congratulates 11 new Fellows approved by the ISN Fellowship Committee following the first round of applications for 2020.
This year, Priyanka Subramani, from the Central and Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplantation Service in Australia, will undertake an ISN Reverse Fellowship at the Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital in Tanzania under the supervision of Dr. Francis F. Fredrick. The ISN Reverse Fellowship is for young nephrologists from well-resourced settings willing to spend up to 12 months in a low or middle-income country (LMIC) to train clinical staff onsite through direct mentorship.
Etienne Ntabanganyimana, from the Gihundwe Hospital in Rwanda, was selected as the first Detlef Schlöndorff Fellow. He will travel to India to spend 12 months training in interventional nephrology under the mentorship of Prof. Santosh Varughese at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India.
Na Tian from the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University in China was awarded the ACN-ISN-HKSN Scholarship. This initiative supports young nephrologists living and working in China who are looking for short-term training in either their home country or Hong Kong and is co-funded, with the ISN, by the International Association of Chinese Nephrologists (IACN) and the Hong Kong Society of Nephrology (HKSN). Na Tian will train in the management of peritoneal dialysis for three months under the supervision of Prof. Philip K.T. Li at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong.
