ISN President-Elect Adeera Levin to receive Aubrey J. Tingle Prize
ISN is delighted to announce that ISN President Elect Adeera Levin has been selected by the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) as the recipient of this year’s Aubrey J. Tingle Prize. The prize will be presented in partnership with LifeSciences BC at their annual awards banquet on Thursday April 16, 2015.
“It is a privilege for me to receive this award, in recognition of the work I have done in improving our understanding of chronic kidney disease, its impact on patients and healthcare systems,” says Dr Levin.
She adds: “This work is only possible because of the patients who volunteer their time and information to participate in our studies, the research teams, the students, residents and fellows who help us ask and answer the questions, and my colleagues within and outside Canada, who are committed to working collaboratively to answer important questions.”
The Aubrey J. Tingle Prize honors the important role of Dr Tingle as the founding President and CEO of the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR). It is presented to a British Columbia (BC) clinician scientist or scholar practitioner whose work in health research is internationally recognized and has significantly advanced clinical or health services and policy research and its uptake to improve health and the health system in BC and globally.
