Nexus symposium Brisbane: early bird registration extended
The early bird registration deadline for ISN Nexus Brisbane has now been extended to July 21, 2014. CLICK HERE to register. This meeting has also been granted 18 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
Brisbane, Australia will be the location for the second ISN Nexus Symposium of 2014. Hypertension and the Kidney is the theme of this meeting taking place from September 25 to 28, 2014.
Unraveling the role of the kidney in hypertension will lead discussions. Thomas Coffman, Chair of the Scientific Committee, explains: “Hypertension affects more than 1 billion people worldwide.” He adds: “The topic of the kidney and hypertension has not been addressed recently, and there have been many recent advances in the field that will be of great interest to clinicians and researchers.”
Coffman is looking forward to the sessions focused on renal nerve ablation – an intriguing new approach for treating patients with refractory hypertension. Experts in the field will be reviewing the basic pathophysiology of renal nerves in hypertension, along with the results of the latest clinical studies.
Other interesting sessions will focus on increasing importance of salt and the epithelial sodium channel in the vasculature, the role of the extracellular matrix as a buffer for sodium and how these concepts are widening our understanding of long-term blood pressure control.
Nexus Symposia are designed to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical practice. These meetings bring researchers and practitioners together to advance science and treatment around highly targeted and specific themes. To stay up to date with the latest news and information, CLICK HERE.
