CMEs in India and Indonesia planned for coming months
ISN is happy to announce the endorsement of two Continuing Medical Education (CME) Courses, taking place in India and Indonesia over the coming months. These will coincide with local meetings and respond to training needs in these regions. The Asia Pacific Society of Nephrology is jointly funding the travel of two speakers.
India continues to struggle to provide dialysis to many early stage renal patients so peritoneal dialysis is one sustainable solution for better care. The CME course will help develop collaborations between doctors as it takes place in Pune during the 17th Annual conference of the Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India on August 16 and 17, 2014. It will be organized by Dr. K. Sampathkumar, Secretary of the Peritoneal Society of India. Prof. Dhavee Sirivongs from Thailand will speak at the event.
The 14th Jakarta Nephrology and Hypertension Course will be held during the 7th Indonesian Nephrology Forum 2014 from May 1st to 4th, 2014 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This CME course is organized by Ginova Nainggolan and the speaker is Dr. Hin-Seng Wong from Malaysia.
The goal of this course is to update Indonesian nephrologists, internal medicine specialists and physicians working in dialysis units about Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and hypertension. It will also help introduce interventional nephrology within the Indonesian nephrology community. It will focus on the new CKD classification and new guidelines in hypertension, look at renal biopsy and Chronic Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis catheter insertion. This CME has been endorsed by the Oceania and South East Asia Regional Board Chair Peter Kerr (Australia).
