Elevating Kidney Health on the Global Health Agenda: The ISN’s Dedicated Activities at UNGA 79
The ISN is excited to announce its participation at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September.
On September 25, the ISN will host a series of dedicated activities in New York focused on raising awareness of and driving action on kidney disease:
- ISN exhibit booth: “Kidney Health Matters: Prioritizing the Silent Epidemic”
The booth will highlight the human and economic burden of kidney disease using data from the ISN Global Kidney Health Atlas. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT.
- ISN fireside chat: “Kidney Health Matters: Prioritizing the Silent Epidemic”
ISN Advocacy Working Group Chair, Valerie Luyckx, and Voice of the Patient Principal, Kevin Fowler, will host the fireside chat from 12:30 – 12:50 p.m. in the “Innovating for Global Health and Well-being” session at the Devex summit “The Future Can’t Wait.”

- ISN expert panel: “Transformative Health Policies for NCDs: Emphasizing the Importance of an Integrated Approach for Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Conditions,” from 3 – 4 p.m.
Dr. Luyckx will speak at the panel discussion* on “Leveraging the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs to Make Meaningful Commitments for Patients with Cardiovascular, Kidney, and Metabolic Diseases.” The Minister of Health for Guatemala will also join the discussion.
