The cohort conducted a cross-sectional survey to:

  • Understand knowledge, attitudes, and practices among healthcare professionals concerning the link between climate change and kidney health
  • Identify sustainable kidney care initiatives and strategies to enhance their engagement
  • Compare responses from countries with different income levels

In an opinion piece published in the Canadian Journal of Kidney Health and Disease, ISN Emerging Leaders Program members from low- and middle-income countries share insights into the challenges of implementing environmentally sustainable kidney care practices and propose solutions for their respective regions in response to recent guidance from the Canadian Society of Nephrology’s Sustainable Nephrology Action Planning committee.
