Indigenous Peoples' Perspectives of Living With Chronic Kidney Disease: Systematic Review of Qualitative Studies

The high burden of chronic disease among Indigenous Peoples is widely recognized. Many Indigenous Peoples with chronic kidney disease (CKD) experience similar challenges to the general population but may also encounter inequitable access to responsive, culturally safe health information and services.

This study describes Indigenous Peoples' experience of living with CKD to help broaden our understanding of additional barriers to kidney care across different First Nations groups and settings.

KIDNEY INTERNATIONAL REPORTS EDITORIAL SELECTION

Socioeconomic Determinants, Regional Differences, and Quality of Nephrology Research in Africa

The first ISN Global Kidney Health Atlas (GKHA) reported that Africa was consistently lagging behind other world regions in its capacity to participate in clinical trials or observational studies in nephrology. This descriptive study provides a brief report on the quantity and quality of published research in nephrology from Africa over five decades.
