How this initiative helps advance kidney health worldwide?
As the only globally focused, comprehensive guide to running your own RCT (randomized controlled trial), the Clinical Trials Toolkit is a unique resource for researchers. In the Global Trials Focus (GTF), we see the breadth of nephrology trials being done worldwide and together, these resources empower more people to join the research effort.
How did this initiative enable you to advance kidney health in your home country?
By engaging local nephrology trainees and junior doctors with a wide variety of clinical studies and fostering discussion of the strengths and the weaknesses of particular trials, I hope to have improved the understanding of clinical research and its interpretation in the up-and-coming generation of nephrologists.
How does the future looks like?
The next big goal is to involve patients in the appraisal and dissemination of research with a regular patient-focused research summary. Improving research literacy in patients and consumers would greatly improve the opportunities for truly collaborative researcher-consumer partnerships.
