How this initiative helps advance kidney health worldwide?
The ISN Observatory of CKDu (Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Etiology) is designed to facilitate collaboration and information exchange between groups working on the field. The information in the observatory will expand. And so, it will facilitate future collaborations and will set the path towards a better understanding of CKDu.
How did this initiative enable you to advance kidney health in your home country?
I am from Guatemala, in Central America there are multiple groups working on CKDu research. This initiative will bring together these groups. ISN Observatory of CKDu has the potential to align the goals and objectives of the CKDu research in Central America.
How does the future looks like?
I see myself generating and sharing knowledge about kidney disease. My main goal is to bring this knowledge to our Central American patients to reduce the burden of CKD in the region.
