The ISN Welcomes a New Collective-Member Society
The Nephrology Society of Thailand (NST) has joined the ISN as a Collective-Member Society, further strengthening a mutual commitment to advancing kidney care in South East Asia.
Established in 1974 and currently presided by Prof. Surasak Kantchuwessiri, the NST shares ISN’s objectives to promote nephrology education and kidney disease research to members and beyond. The NST website provides resources on kidney health for the general public.
The NTS has been involved in several ISN Granting Programs over the years, including:
- Institutions in Thailand supported health centers in Laos and Cambodia through the ISN Sister Renal Centers between 2006 and 2014.
- The ISN Fellowship Program has trained 22 Fellows from Thailand, which, in turn, has hosted four ISN Fellows.
- The King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok has just been selected as an ISN Regional Training Center.
The ISN now has 23 Collective-Member societies, further strengthening ISN’s central role within the international nephrology community.
The ISN looks forward to continuing to work closely with the NST to advance kidney health worldwide – together.
